Privacy Policy
Effective 17 July 2026 · Last updated 17 July 2026
Gyaanam (gyaanam.in) is operated by Kamleshshree Pvt Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect from you and what we do with it.
1What we believe
We hold strong ethical values about data, and we believe in transparency. Above all: your information ultimately belongs to you, and to you alone. We hold it only to run the service you signed up for, and this policy is the complete account of what we do with it.
2What exactly we collect
- Your email address, to create your account and sign you in.
- Your phone number, verified once by OTP at sign-up, to confirm you are a real person and keep your account secure.
- Your password, stored only in encrypted form. We cannot read it.
- Your name, which you give us when you create your account.
- Basic technical records (such as sign-in events) needed to keep your account safe and the service running.
- Your device and connection: when you sign in, we record your IP address, your browser type, and a device identifier (a cookie named
gy_device), so we can recognise the devices on your account and stop account sharing. - How you use Gyaanam: which pages you open and which features you use, so we can improve the product.
- Your approximate area: the city or state your internet connection reports, with the rough map position that comes from your IP address (never GPS and never your device’s precise location), to understand where aspirants use Gyaanam and to keep accounts safe.
That is the full list. We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or payment card details, and we use no advertising trackers.
3What we use this information for
- Running the service: your account, your sign-in, and the daily study material you signed up for.
- Internal operations: keeping the platform secure and reliable, and preventing misuse. Your information stays inside Gyaanam; it is never handed to outsiders for their own purposes.
- Service-related communication: verification codes, password resets, and important notices about your account or the service.
Nothing else. We will not use your information for any purpose not listed here without asking you first.
4Product improvement
We measure how Gyaanam is used: which pages are opened and which features are used. For signed-in users, this measurement is tied to your account. We use PostHog, an analytics service that processes this data only on our instructions; it does not use your data for its own purposes and does not track you across other websites. Anonymous visitors are measured without cookies.
If we ever need additional information from you to improve the product (for example, a survey or an optional new feature), we will ask you separately and collect it only with your consent. Saying no, or changing your mind later, never affects your access to the service.
5Cookies
We use only essential cookies: secure sign-in cookies that keep you logged in to your account, and one device cookie (gy_device) that helps us recognise the devices you sign in from, so an account cannot be shared around. They do nothing else. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies, and nothing that tracks you across other websites. Because of that, there is no consent banner to click through; if you block cookies in your browser, the only effect is that you cannot stay signed in.
6Your control and how to reach us
You can access, correct, export, or delete your information and your account at any time. For any question, request, or complaint about your data, write to us at support@gyaanam.in. If we ever change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect.
