Privacy Policy

Effective 6 September 2026

This policy explains what information Gyaanam (gyaanam.in) collects from you and what we do with it.

1What we believe

We hold strong ethical values about data, and we believe in transparency. Above all: your information ultimately belongs to you, and to you alone. We hold it to run and improve the service you signed up for, and this policy explains how.

It is yours. You can see, correct, export, or delete your information whenever you want.
Never sold. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
Kept secure. Your data is protected with reasonable security practices, and your password is encrypted.

2What exactly we collect

  • Your email address, to create your account and sign you in.
  • Your phone number, verified once by OTP at sign-up, to confirm you are a real person, keep your account secure, and send you messages about your account, your free trial, and any plan you buy by SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Your password, stored only in encrypted form. We cannot read it.
  • Your name, which you give us when you create your account.
  • Basic technical records (such as sign-in events) needed to keep your account safe and the service running.
  • Your device and connection: when you sign in, we record your IP address, your browser type, and a device identifier (a cookie named gy_device), so we can recognise the devices on your account and stop account sharing.
  • How you use Gyaanam: which pages you open, which features you use, and your device and browser type, collected through the cookies and similar technologies described in section 5, so we can improve the product.
  • How your visit looks on screen: we may record how you move, click, and scroll through our pages so we can find and fix confusing screens. Anything you type is hidden from these recordings.
  • Your approximate area: the city or state your internet connection reports, with the rough map position that comes from your IP address (never GPS and never your device’s precise location), to understand where aspirants use Gyaanam and to keep accounts safe.

We do not collect your precise location or your contacts, and we never see your full payment card or UPI details; payments are handled by our payment provider, Razorpay. We keep only records of your payments (the plan, the amount, and the payment status), so we know what you have paid for.

3What we use this information for

  • Running the service: your account, your sign-in, and the daily study material you signed up for.
  • Internal operations: keeping the platform secure and reliable, and preventing misuse. We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions (hosting, analytics, payments, messaging, advertising). We never sell your data.
  • Service-related communication: verification codes, password resets, and important notices about your account or the service.
  • Telling you about Gyaanam: updates and offers about our service, and understanding how our marketing performs. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time.

We may also use information where the law requires it.

4Product improvement

We measure how Gyaanam is used: which pages are opened, which features are used, and how visitors move through the site, including session-level usage patterns that help us find and fix confusing screens. For signed-in users, this measurement is tied to your account. We use analytics services (currently PostHog) that process this data on our instructions. PostHog does not track you across other websites. We also use the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag to measure how our ads on Instagram, Google and YouTube perform; Meta and Google each process this data under their own privacy policies.

If we ever need additional information from you to improve the product (for example, a survey or an optional new feature), we will ask you separately and collect it only with your consent. Saying no, or changing your mind later, never affects your access to the service.

5Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) to keep you signed in, keep your account secure, remember your preferences, and understand how Gyaanam is used and how our marketing performs. Sign-in uses secure cookies; one device cookie (gy_device) helps us recognise the devices you sign in from; analytics uses a first-party identifier stored in your browser; advertising cookies from Meta and Google (section 4) help us measure our ads. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking them may affect sign-in.

6Your control and how to reach us

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information and your account at any time. For any question, request, or complaint about your data, write to us at support@gyaanam.in. If we ever change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect.

Data deletion: to delete your account and the personal data we hold about it, write to support@gyaanam.in from your registered email address or verified phone number. We confirm the request and complete the deletion within 15 days, keeping only what the law requires us to keep (such as payment records).

Grievance Officer: you can reach our grievance officer at +91 93550 32233 or support@gyaanam.in. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
